As long as your cat has been recently de-wormed and is under good health, he will be fine.
If you cat isn't up to date with vaccines, or is an outdoor cat I would contact your Dr. as cats can spread some nasty little parasites.
If they bowl was pretty clean (washed recently), your cat is healthy and baby is not looking ill it should be fine.
Maybe move the cat food out of reach for a while as children get into lots and it really only takes a second.
Wash your childs hands, because cats can easily spread ring worm to children through the mouth. (Try treating 3 children with ring worm, and 2 outdoor cats, phew that was hard).

Was it dry food or canned food? Either way, he'll be fine. My daughter used to eat dog food and cat food when she was crawling and believe me; all that goes in --- will come out. Just watch him closely until he poops and make sure he gets liquids. the more he drinks, the faster it will pass through his system.. Is this your first child? You've got a long hard road ahead, so don't sweat the little stuff. Just keep the food out of reach and this will NOT be the last time you have something like this happen. I'm the mother of 3 grown kids and grandmother to a wonderful 3 yr old boy who is in to everything! I hope this helped.

ha ha. My son used to always sneak in the dog food bowl when i wsn't looking. he will be fine. this happened a million gillion times to me. I have a one year old daughter now who trys to do the same thing to my new cats food. But I got smart and put a baby gate up so they cant enter the kitchen AT ALL. theres just too much they can get into that would harm them. so the kitchen is off limits to the youngsters at my house ( unless of course for meal times ) So to answer your question. No. he will be fine. Kinda gross yet funny but he'll be fine

He should be fine in fact it may do him some good.
Research has shown that kids on farms have less allergies because they are exposed to animals and dirt from a young age and build up their immune system.
In kids that are kept in an "anti-septic" clean environment, their immune system needs something to do and starts attacking none harmful things like peanuts. That is why there are so many more allergies nowadays.
However, if your son starts burying his poo you will know why.

My son has done everything from windex in his eyes to drinking hydrogen peroxide. (yea yea call me a bad mom for having these things in his reach. the cupboard had a child proof thingy, he just figured out how to open them!)

He'll be fine. It's mostly rice, chicken, fish or various other things. I doubt it tasted very good but it's not going to cause any problems (other than maybe some vomiting from the disgusting smell).
Good luck!

What kind of cat food is it? Do you have the container to see the ingredients? I think it'll be ok though, I would think if there was something toxic it would kill the cat first
