only if it's within

Such rhetoric!
Virtue is generally considered to be behavior showing high moral standards.

Yet, Virtue is also frequently taken to mean a desireable quality or action in a person, such as patience is a virtue.

Then again, Virtue could be the term chosen to describe a good or useful quality of a thing when one wishes to, say, extoll the virtues of the car.

Historically, in traditional Christian angelology, Virtue is the seventh highest order of the ninefold celestial hierarchy.

To me, synonyms of the word Virtue might be righteousness, morality, integrity, dignity, rectitude, honor, decency, respectability, nobility, worthiness, purity; principles, ethics, good quality, strength, talent,

Why not add the highly, humanly sought after quality of Beauty amongst Virtue?

Beauty comes from within because it truly is in the eyes (the ears, the mind, the heart) of the beholder.

Thank You.

I ll have to say yes. Why? Whether we like it or not physical beauty has a power to it. In every kingdom species and material things there is. The most precious birds, horses, flowers, fish etc we as humans pick the best flowers for example such the essence is their beauty. Now just like a gorgeous woman or a beautiful car. We as people prefer prettier things, so I think that is why beauty is a virtue it is like a special gift given to you in which can be used to your advantage. Just like a moral virtue honesty or a intellectual virtue of being smart.

Not a virtue exactly. You call qualities like truthfulness, honesty, loyalty etc a virtue. Beauty helps to stand out better for a while, but in long terms its your virtues that people appreciate.

No, not in itself.

Beauty is superficial and if it is destroyed, a person's character retains all its integrity. The loss of virtue is the destruction of a character.

Some beauty is an effect of some virtue.

Beauty is a trait, a feature. Virtue is a quality. It defines the sense of goodness or moral characteristics. Beauty in the form of kindness and modesty can be virtues.
But beauty in itself is not a virtue. There can be physically beautiful people who aren't virtuous and physically ugly people who are virtuous.

If you mean physical beauty - not in the least. Physical beauty is God performing a random act of kindness. Beauty of the spirit is a virtue. Pax - C

Beauty is an attribute, not a character trait. Virtue is about personal character, while beauty is a natural phenomenon.
