I love Disney World, I will be staying in Orlando for 7 days while meeting up with my mom. She refuses to go because she says we go every year and wants to do something different. So I thought I would get my Disney fix my going on the monorail and visiting each resort. I thought it would be fun to explore and maybe have a drink at there lounge. Will I be able to ride the Monorail with no intention of going to any of Disney's theme parks. I know I will have to pay $9.00 for parking. I know this sounds real cheesy , but I am staying at the West gate resort but the Board Walk Villas pool looks so much more appetizing. I know it's reserved for guest, but how accessible do you think it is.

Techincally you are only supposed to use the Disney transportation when you are staying onsite, although some people will use it when they are going to the parks and feel it is okay.

At this point in time you do not have to show that you are staying onsite at Disney to use their transportation. (They are actually supposed to check before you can ride, but they never really do) However, they have been having more problems recently with a lot of non-guests using their transportation, which is causing problems for guests that are paying for the privelage of using their buses. So, what I hear is that they are going to start requring that you swipe your room key before you are allowed to get on the buses and things. This was just a rumor, so I don't if it will happen and if it does when, but it is just something to be aware of.

One thing I'm not sure if you are aware of, in your question is sounds like you plan to use the monorail to get all the resorts onsite at Disney. The monorail is only at three of the resorts, the most expensive of the Disney resorts, which are Grand Floridian, Contemporary and Polynesian, so you can get to those three, but you would need to use another form of transportation to get to the others.

You don't need to pay for parking though. You can one of two things. You can park at one of the monorail resorts and just tell them that you have dinner reservations or that you want to look around, then park your car yourself and don't use valet, there is no fee. If you want to avoid dealing with security all together, then you can park at Downtown Disney and just ride the bus to one of the monorail resorts.

I would not recommend using the pool. Disney really wants the pool to be used by their guests only. Even guests staying onsite at Disney are not supposed to use the pools of the other resorts (with a few exceptions) Yahct and Beach Club requires a wristband to use the pool, etc. The pools are really nice at the Disney resorts, but, they are not worth it for all the hassel you would have to go through to swim there. The pool at Westgate will be really nice and offer pretty much the same things, but you don't have to worry about causing problems. If it were me, I would definitely not risk swimming at one of the Disney resorts.

Hope this answers all your questions.

Have a good time!

You can ride the monorail as much as you like, they don't check. As far as the pool, I am not sure how they would know if your good at it, I mean you have to use your head and not just go there with a big bag with your suit and towel in, wear your suit under your clothes so it is easier to get changed. I have went to other hotels with my kids and used their pools, I have never been "caught" or even approached by anyone, by doing this on my next vacation we have booked with a certain hotel because of the pools after we swam there, so I am not sure if they would be so upset considering it brought them some new visitors
I say give it a try........... what the heck all they can do is make you leave, not like you would ever see those people again

You can park at one of the monorail resorts, have breakfast and then catch the monorail and ride it as long as you would like.

As far as using a resort pool but not staying at the resort, I wouldn't suggest it. I have seen people "kicked out" for doing this and from their facial expressions they are extremely embarrassed and honestly, it's a BIG scene normally, not a quiet toned request for you to leave.
