why do people take advantage of me? especially men? why do i get so used, so often?
Its really starting to suck, and making me feel like sh*t, but I've noticed this pattern in myself. I don't know who i am, so I slave to others for approval? why is this? and why do so many people have no care in the world for hurting another person who does nothing but show them kindness? I'm 23. and I feel like i'm too old to still be so naive. Help!

You let them use you because you are so eager for approval. Men sense the neediness in you and run from it. Stop trying to please everyone you know and concentrate on yourself. If you don't give a damn, men will stick around.

People take advantage because they're naturally self-centered and don't see what it's doing to you. Some would take advantage even if they knew because they are the most important people in their own lives.
If you've been hurt more than once, you're not just naive, you have poor judgment in men. Once you know this, you can quit jumping in to help every man who comes along and wait to get to know him better.
A user is seldom patient, so if you slow down, most of the bad guys will move on, leaving you with a better chance of getting a good guy.

Could be a lot of things.
Could be you got a martyr complex.
Could be you open up with, "I've been so used and abused before, please don't mistreat me like all the rest." that's like blood in the water to a user, shark-like personality.
Decide you are no longer attracted to dangerous bad boys, but that you instead like nice, tame guys that have a job, and pay rent. Boring to you. Secure to the average woman.
You might secretly have problems with intimacy, and thus only seek out guys that will dump you, so that you don't have to get close.
Could be a lot of things but without concrete examples of I do X and say X and Y happens, from Guy type Z, it's a guessing game, at best.
Finally you might just be one of those super nice people that losers take advantage of, so thus you need to armor yourself mentally, and look out for those people, you draw them like a magnet, as they see you as an easy mark.

hey its the disgusting, sad, dissapointing world we live in. you're not the only one like this, there are others out there. The thing is you need how to love yourself and respect yourself so you dont go to others looking for it. People these days see a nice or naive looking person and think they will use them without themselves getting hurt. Usually this happens because someone used them, so now they need to get it out on you and feel powerful. Be strong, say no, stand up for yourself. good luck.

We are humans. We are greedy and wants everything in this world. Normally, these people who treats others like **** are the ones who have been mistreated way back when. It's all psychological. Everybody tries to be equal to others. Therefore, when they are being mistreated but others, they will eventually mistreat people who they can mistreat. For example, people who hit their kids, their kids tend to mistreat living things that are more helpless than they are. It's just the way the world works. Welcome to the real world

the same question i have in mind and i think these suckers take advantage of the weaked ones bcuz we allow them to.
I agree with Sarah C.... also, we need to be more suspicious of any man who talks too much about himself. It may not necessarily mean they act upon their own words.
