IF. . and I state IF Barry Bonds has used steroids. . . how is he different then almost every other athlete out there from high school. . to college. . .to the pros. . . as well as most of your body builders and make believe wrestlers? I could take steroids for ten years but I sure as hell couldn't hit a baseball like he has. What about Roger Clemons? How is he still pitching at his age? Don't forget folks. . . steroids are not just used to bulk up. . . they are even more important in recovery from injury and workouts. Truth is you CAN NOT compare any of today's athletes with those of past generations. Having video scouting of all of your competition. . . . improved nutritional and workout information. . . and career saving surgeries these days has probably had a lot more to do with the more impressive numbers many athletes post these days. Bonds has been villified by the press because he doesn't kiss their butts and offer opinions on everything. . . he just plays baseball.

You might as well place an asterick next to every record in every sport since 1970. . .except soccer because that is a wussy sport that is completely lame. You see more action in a National Geographic film of turtles humping than you do in a soccer match. Also. . . most kindergarteners on a playground don't cry and whine about getting knocked down or dirty as soccer players do. That's why there are so many riots at soccer matches. . . there is nothing to do but get drunk and fight because you are bored.

Also. . why is bonds villified for not offer his opinion on everything around and outside of baseball? All athletes do is get ripped on for offering an personal attitude. Since when did it become illegal in this country to have a personal opinion or like or dislike? There are far too many butt pirates and minority crybabies out there! As a result everytime somebody offers a personal opinion they get call racist or intolerant! John Rocker was crucified by the press for saying he didn't like pole smoking men. Maybe we should rip on butt pirate men because they have said they don't like punani! Too many weak crybabies in this world. . . . get over it all you crybabies!

Anyways, I am with you but it's a dead issue to me. Barry will be in the record books and people will just have to deal with it. I support Barry 100%!

I also think you are a wussie! I didn't like your comment about soccer. It's actually one of the tougher and more grueling sports out there. Soccer players are arguably the fittest athlete there is out there and some of the toughest. And there is a reason why it is the most popular sport OUTSIDE of the U.S. and that's because it is a great sport.

There is no doubt in my mind that you are from Northern California. I have been all over this country, spent time on all 3 coasts and I can definitively state that there are 0 rational people in this country that do not think Barry used steroids to catapult from a player who had never hit 50HRs and hits 75.

Barry is not a man, but an insecure little boy who was upset by the attention paid to other cheaters (Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire) and winning MEN (Derek Jeter) and needed to do something to put himself back in the spotlight.

Fortunately, he will be remembered as a phony, a fake, a cheater and a little boy who was the king (along with Dave Winfield) of the meaningless home run.

ESPN and the MLB as a whole should be held forever in contempt for pretending this is a non issue and praising Barroid instead of ackowledging what he is.

*Hank Aaron does not have a shred of respect for Barroid. Baseball is a sport very conscious of its roots and heritage- the fact that Hank (and Bud Selig for that matter) will not be in attendance when Barry hits 756 speaks volumes of his lack of respect for Barroid.

Barroid, Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire, Rafael Palmeiro should all be remembered for what they are- cheaters.

Pay attention to and respect players such as Craig Biggio for their pure accomplishments.

**Barroid will not be #1 for long- it's only a matter of time before ARod hits #800.

then only thing that you said that was true was the crap about soccer, which doesn't need to be said.

Bonds admitted to use of roids. (.) He just lied about the fact he didn't know about it.

Even before the press hated Bonds, he hated the press. He has this great big chip on his shoulder because his Daddy is one of the best players of all time, not to be in the HOF. and he blames the press for it.

Bonds is/was one of the greatest to ever play the game, but when Big Mac and Sosa had their run at 61, he got pissy and told at least 3 players that he was going on roids, and what do you know, he went from 500 to almost 700 in 3 years.

For the record, there is more evidence that using roids, (at least the types they use) doesn't help you recover from injury, and often leads to more injuries.

unfortunately we can not change the opinion of every MLB junkie that thinks he knows it all about Barry Bonds or Roger Clemens or any other Major Leaguer. the sad part is that these same hypocrites will be the ones running on top of children, pushing senior citizens out of the way and practically ignoring everyone else to see this monumental achievement when it does occur. standing, applauding and telling there friends they witnessed baseball history.

My whole problem is that IF he did use steroids, admit it. You are right, there is no way to compare modern athletes to ones of the past, but if you are going to break a major record, like Bonds is, I feel I have the right to know if he did it on steroids or not. Sure, steroids does not improve your coordination, it does not help him make contact or have a nice swing, it just adds a little more power to your swing. The rest is talent, but just come clean, don't say NO NO NO if the answer is yes.

First stop being a Barry apologist.

The man is a great baseball player no doubt, but he has always been a jerk. Part of sports is being able to handle the media asking you stupid questions! Ask Ryan Leaf, that poor guy crumbled before he ever got on the field.

As for the roids, while he has never officially failed a test it seems pretty clear he was on the juice. His personal trainer was passing them around, come on the man is dirty!

If Bonds weren't going about breaking possibly the most well known record in baseball, nobody would care that he had used roids. It's not so much disrespecting Barry, as it is respecting the record and the history of those who set it without all the performance enhancing things you mentioned!

Hey to be perfectly honest with you I didn't have a problem with the guy until the day he compared himself to Jesus Christ. I'm not even a hardcore religious person and that totally crossed the line for me. I don't know if you guys remember it or not but it went a little like this...

(Before he broke McGuire's record)

Reporter: "How do you feel about the fact that there are a lot of people that don't like you and that don't want to see you break the record?"

Barry Bonds: "It doesn't really bother me, I look at it a lot like back when (Jesus) Christ was trying to spread the word... nobody liked him but he was doing what he was doing to better the world."

I'm sorry but WTF is that?! I personally hope he comes within 1 HR from tying and then breaks his knee from actually trying to go after the ball for once.

It's all been said before. Please stop wasting everyone's time with boring rhetoric and trite arguments. Let's all move on.

And who is Roger Clemons? Must be a rookie.

Seriously, I am going to have a seizure with you people not using spell-check. If you can't spell, spell-check.

You must be a 13 year-old homophobe or something. Get all that angst out now before you shoot your friends at school. Yes, we are all crybabies because we don't agree with your impressionable rants. We are all also "butt-pirates". Anyone who doesn't agree with you must be of the homosexual persuasion. How could any god-fearing, good natured heterosexual man disagree with such prestigious remarks? I just don't know.

Is this Barry Bonds himself?

Wow, good one, biffman. We're definitely married brother and sister. Idiot. Because that's not a childish comeback or anything. Listen, when people disagree with you, why not back it up with actual statements and facts and not "everyone is gay and you are all stupid" because that just makes you look like a child. Stop being so defensive. And use spell check. It works. I promise.

You know who the only person not upset with Barry Bonds? Hank Aaron. that's poetic, don't ya think. He appreciates and knows first hand how hard it is do what Bonds has done .... I hate all these people who say it's all because of steroids..as if everyone that took steroids could hit 750 HR's... Hey I think I'm gonna go do that. Yea, all I need is my trusty steroids and I can do it. morons.....

And one more thing.. For everyone who's upset that bonds doesn't get up in front of the media and tell us what we want to hear.. how about this. wait for it.. that's how the F ucking Game is played!.. Shut up, play baseball. hard to find a basebal player (or any professional athlete) who will do that anymore.

As for the bunghole that corrected the guy for spelling Clemens wrong... get a life. go fist yourself... use spell check while doing it. It could be fun.
By the way.. Spell check does not correct names, now I would of thought you'd of known that.. you know everything else, right? lol. queer

In conclusion If you haven't hit 750 Hr's .. shut the hell up and go eat your hot pockets.. and work your average jobs, with an average life style. And pray that one day you could be any where near where Bonds is today.
