Yes, but other than historically Black universities and community colleges, that is true of most. Due to Supreme Court decisions, however, they really can't admit anyone based upon race alone.

I think almost every university strives for diversity, particularly at top universities where fewer minorities are competitive. A few universities consider race and socioeconomic statues, two aspects of diversity, in the admission possess, but that will not make up for a poor academic record. If your looking for a diverse campus, various organizations rank the most diverse campuses. GL
