It is possible that you just have irregular periods. Have you seen a gynocologist about it? He/she should really check to make sure there isn't an underlying cause.

Periods are different for everyone.
Your period doesn't necessarily need to last for many days. Sometimes it's normal for some people to skip periods, like once every other month. The only things that "naturally" interrupt a period are pregnancy and menopause.
If you go too long without a period you can experience anything from pain in the pelvic are to sharp pain in the ovaries. These can be caused by many things that can include anything from tubal pregnancy to tumors in the ovaries.
The best thing you can do is if you've been without your period for longer than 3 months, see your obgyn, they'll have something that will make you regular. (most likely contraceptives)

stress would def cause a late period. you must have just started your period not too long ago because when i first got mine i was the same way, one month i never even got a period and other times they would be way off track. mines like too, heavy the first two or three days then light the next few days. dont worry your normal as possible. and if you think something is wrong go talk to your mom or get an appointment with your doctor. good luck!

I have the same thing. I dont consider it a problem. I saw my gyno and told her everything a few years back. If it's always been like this then its okay. The 1st day is always super heavy even the second day sometimes. I get bad cramps too. Sometimes it lasts longer then other times. Sometimes it will start a week later, sometimes not. it could be stress or medication, or even food. If its your first year or two then it will get more stable, but if it just started out of the blue then its prolly stress or if your taking the pill, it does that sometimes.

My guess is that its just the way your body functions. I don't have a regular schedule for mine either. It might be because of an iron deficiency. Also stress I think plays a huge factor in it. When I get really stressed my period is usually late. One time it was late then I had it for a couple of days then went off then started a few days later.
If you're really worried about it I would talk to your doctor.
Hope that helps!

If you don't weigh a lot, you might be missing your period. Or, if you are just starting to get it, sometimes it happens that you miss one. Also, the flow will vary from day to day.

The first year or so you will be very irregular. If you have had it for well over a year and are still very irregular then see your doc just to be sure everytinhg is ok.
