The time is so far off because they need to put you through so many meds during that type and all have to be timed with your cycle. Ours took a while to get going too, it was a good 2-3 months.

The only way anyone will know you got pregnant through IVF is if you tell them or tell someone who tells them.

The doctors will tell you what to do, but in general, you'll probably be asked to do bedrest for 2-3 days after they put the zygotes in. After that point, you just have to wait on pins and needles for a few weeks to see if your pregnant. Once your pregnant, it is no different than a normal pregnancy. Although your infertility doctor will probably monitor you closely through your first 3 months, just to be sure all is well. They may want you to take progesterone too, but they'll let yo know.

IVF, and all other infertility treatments are taxing emotionally and physically, but so is not doing them and wanting to get pregnant but not actually getting there. The worst is if it doesn't work, the let down is terrible. But remember, it isn't a perfect science. Do what you can and hope for the best. It took us two treatments. The first time they were near positive it would take. We had lots of eggs, they were well developed, all was wonderful. It was negative. The second time, they weren't even sure if we should go ahead, we only had one egg, and bingo bango, we have one baby boy! There's just no telling. Get yourself good support, and hang on for the ride of your life. Once your pregnant, breathe a huge sigh of relief and try not to stress too much.

I hope that helps.

IVF is the process of fertilization by manually combining an egg and sperm in a laboratory dish. When the IVF procedure is successful, the process is combined with a procedure known as embryo transfer, which involves physically placing the embryo in the uterus.

1. Monitor and stimulate the development of healthy egg(s) in the ovaries.
2. Collect the eggs.
3. Secure the sperm.
4. Combine the eggs and sperm together in the laboratory and provide the appropriate environment for fertilization and early embryo growth.
5. Transfer embryos into the uterus.

Embryo Transfer (ET) can be done on 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th day (blastocyst transfer). The results do not differ much. 2nd day transfer is more cost effective. Many embryos will not reach blastocyst (day 5) stage, if they are not normal, so waiting till day 5, is like screening them further.

Legal procedures for surrogacy

At GIFT IVF Centre, we have local advocates and international advocates to deal with the legal matters of surrogacy. Both the biological parents need to sign on consent form after counseling. Guardian has to be allotted, so that somebody will be there to take over the baby, in case of mishappenings like unforeseen accidents to parents or separation. If it is foreign national, they need to get surrogacy visa (Medical visa) from their country, before starting treatment.

No one will know that you got pregnant thru IVF unless you tell them.
