Isn't the shortage of doctors the main problem with Canada's health-care system because they lost many Doctors to the USA where they don't have to treat poor patients but only the patients whom they choose?

Can the same be said of Britain India and a number of other countries where doctors aren't allowed to extort "your money or your life" profits from frightened sick patients?

Look around in your USA hospitals, clinics etc. and see how many doctors are from India, England and other such countries?
Many of them, like in India, were educated in medicine by their socialist government, and they then abandoned their country and fellow-citizens for M-O-N-E-Y in the USA.

Greed and choice over humanity and fairness? That is no deal. As usual, the poor and helpless get screwed by the very people who should be helping them. Socialized medicine is the way to go.

I can tell you are not a physician. There is little money to be had in this country anymore. Gone are the 4 work day weeks, long lunches and so on. Medicare and HMO's have crippled the earning potential of doctors in this country. The insurance alone is staggering for all medical professionals. So they did not leave their countries for profit. They left for a better quality of life.

As for Canadian doctors, I feel they left because the health care system over there is flawed. Treatment options are not available like in the US, and the quality of care is not even close to that in the US. Also if you are a young doctor wanting to work with the latest and greatest in your chosen field, you then have no choice but to come to the US.

I used to sell products to doctors. My route covered all of Minnesota. I used to get so many doors opened by discussing the period of my life when I lived in Canada. Almost every doctor I spoke to came from Canada.

When I moved back to Oklahoma I always mentioned my trip to India with my Uncle. He is from India. In Oklahoma I think every doctor is from India.

It is a good example of why socialized medicine is a failure. Either the doctors will find a new country to make money in or all of the bright people will go into different fields that pay more.

I disagree with you that American doctors are profit-rich. American doctors are overworked and obligated by a corrupt government to provide free operations to those who don't have health care on threat of lawsuit. Might I suggest that American health care ISN'T the worst in the world?

Americans have a lot of resentment and anger towards doctors because they don't know what it's like to be a doctor in America.

A great number of Doctors in Great Britain are from India or Pakistan. I have many relatives their, during one converstion my cousins told me that they sometimes rather see the nurses because they could understand them better since many of the nurses are British and speak clearer English.

Shhhhh, that's the dirty little secret of socialized medicine. Crush the human spirit and that's what happens.
