People are becoming desensitized and have no compassion for other humans beings, animals or the environment.

Entertainment, lack of parental guidance/support, lack of education most likely contributed to this.

Overpopulation; global resource crunch.

That's it - accounts for increase in greed, abuse, disrespect, acting on urges without rational planning or compassion, poor adaptation to rapid changes, and the false worships that justify and accept it all while blaming the 'other.'

Nobody seems ready to face this but I think it's the reality. I guess it just happens so slowly - compared to a human lifetime - that it's easy to deny. The current population of the earth has been unsustainable for some time now, and the negative effects are accumulating.

education is the problem - well - maybe i should rephrase that - its the lack of education that is the problem

for some reason we have stopped teaching our children the difference between right and wrong and we have stop teaching them about being resposnible for their own decisions.

If we could get people to learn this - to learn to be responsible for what they say and do - most of the problems in the world today would go away

Doing that of course - would require that people have to stop blaming others for thier problems - this pardigm shift will be hard for people to take and it may need an entire generation or tow to get it fixed - but once its done we would be on th estraight and narrow again

why does something have to be wrong with the world today? what is going on today, (other than new tecnologies that werent previously available), is the same as it ever was. in fact, i would say there is a lot right with the world today. is the glass half empty or half full? depends on your outlook and perspective.

the one thing i would suggest that is wrong, is nothing more or less than un met expectations. in other words, we can all do better...same as it ever was and will always be. just my op though...i could ne wrong. BUT i'm not...lol.

Materialistic Consumerism has pre-occupied much of Human Concerns leaving little freedom for the Human Spirit to discover and to relate in the Goodness-in-Others.

I'm sorry, but I truly believe that religion and politics are definitely the main problems in the world today. As much as we would like to free Iraq, we're dealing with Holy war....remember? People are looking for religious answers to a huge problem..People are the reason for this....Religion of us vs. them.
