VH1 actually does a show about reality TV secrets. You would be suprised how much isn't real. They do major editing to a lot of things, so even if the people weren't told how to act, they can make it look how they want it to in order to boost their ratings. And you know Jerry Springer ain't real. They tell the people on the show to act that crazy. They encourage their stupidity haha. But still, I love reality TV (not Jerry Springer tho). I try to pretend it is real and not made up lol.

Here is what I think about some of the reality shows and even ones on MTV: I don't think they are scripting the shows. But they are providing with outlines and story ideas. Ever notice how they will be in the middle of a fight and they are trying to struggle to find something to say? When you have a fight, don't you always got something to say? I mean when you're mad, the words flow. How many times have you had to go back and apologize for saying something mean? See, you had too much to say. How many times you ever just stopped in the middle of a fight and say "That's it. I ain't got nothing else." It don't happen. But those people on reality shows have a hard time making a fight work. They are mostly acting. The sad part is they aren't very good actors. And, hey MTV, what's up with the bar scenes? Where do you recruit your talent at Happy Hour? Keep this up and in a couple of years, it will be the MTV Twelve Steps to Riches and Sobriety World. Now there's a show that is both entertaining and educational... Moving on........

Some reality is fake and some isn't. Like Laguna Beach, The Hills, shows like that are planned. You can tell because the cameras aren't doing anything. In actual reality shows like Real World, Road Rules and Flavor of Love the cameras actually move and you can tell that it's not fake. And the talk shows like Maury are real. I doubt they would make that sort of stuff up. But I'm not too sure about Jerry Springer. Sometimes I think at least most of it is fake.

Depends on the level at which the show is produced. Take a show like, say, THE OSBOURNES, which taped over the course of several months and was able to find its stories. A show like that would likely be minimally manipulated.
Cast your eye then to anything shot over ten days in a house somewhere, where every activity is planned to the minute and the interviews start sounding a little stilted... as in, someone staring into the camera, saying "So after we went to Kirby's, we decided to go to a movie. And boy, did Keisha have something to say about that."
Obviously, no human alive talks like that. And if you're seeing people go to a movie, the location had to be cleared, the people involved had to be released, and the interview (in which the person was directed to comment on what happened and in what manner to share it) had to be staged later.
Real or fake, just enjoy. When it's done right, you can't see the seams.

All reality TV shows are fake. Flavor of Love & I Love NY are prolly the fakest ones. The Simple Life is scripted, Hogan Knows Best, The Surreal Life and all of the rest of em are scripted. And so is that other show Run's House. If it were real, the camera would seem as if it were moving, following them around and it wouldnt seem as if you only see one part of a room. Like on Flavor of Love, you never saw the whole room. You saw where they were and a view from the side. So its obviously scripted and fake.
New York from I love NY & Flavor of Love is a fake on her own. Her real name is Kenya Simmons and that is not her name. Sister Patterson is not her mom at all. And that wasnt her husband on the show. If you go to her myspace, it says single. As for the other girls? Who knows.

even if it isnt scripted and just made to look like they are just filming people as they are, they would be performing for the camera. so they dont normally act like that most likely, but i'm sure uve seen how people get when a video camera is around, so its kind of inbetween real and fake

I dont think they are scripted, per se.....just look at it this way. Hundreds and hundreds of hours are taped and then edited into the 45 minute/one hour format you see on TV. So, the hour show you see took many hundreds of hours to 'get'.

I agree with you for all except one reality show, that show being Deadliest Catch. That show is about as real as you can get, but as for the other reality shows that they have out nowadays, its utter garbage.

In my opinion, everyone is fake. People just want their 15 mins of fame and some even try to stay in the spotlight. To me, it is all crap.
