I recently was diagnosed with cervisits. Hospital gave me a shot and four pills, plus doxycycline. That was seven days ago. Went to a gyno on thursday and was told I had an infection still on the tip of my cervix, told me to continue the medicine and use metrogel and also did a pap smear. Now I noticed when I insert the metro gel, the tube comes out bloody and today, im getting browinsh discharge(little clumps).

Has anyone experienced this? Can it be dried out blood leaving the cervix?

Hmm, I have never heard of using Metrogel for a cervical infection before.

The bleeding could have been as a result of the pap smear if the pap smear was just recently done.

I have had a huge problem with cervical infections and it required several tries with antibiotic therapy before finally in 2005 my dr did cryotherapy to the area to cause new skin to grow.

I would recommend getting another opinion and preferably from someone that does not share the same office as the gyn you currently use. The reason for the second opinion is to cover all the bases on treating the cervicitis.
