I have been in Paris only once, but every time someone talks about it, twenty other people tell them how they love Paris. I like it too, but I want a solid explanation WHY! Please help me!

In terms of man-made beauty, it's the most beautiful city I've been to. I like lazing around the cafes, I like the french people (if you know how to handle them, they're extremely friendly), I like big cities period and Paris is a place with lots to see, lots of fun neighborhoods, different kinds of foods to try... It's definitely one of my favorite cities in the world.

My personal reason for liking Paris is because of all the trees they grow alongside the streets and in the parks...
Even Saigon and Hanoi in Vietnam have these huge trees along their boulevards, which the French planted there100 years ago...
Aside from the sites, France is a more progressive country than most of the rest of the world, and they know what to do with sociopaths (like what exist in most large cities). These misfits still have their outlets, (like all the transexuals in the Bois de Boulogne). But even the rioters a couple of years ago lived in the outskirts of the city, and thus had other places to go, other than downtown bothering all the tourists.
Paris is a treasure trove so beautiful that no one as yet ever wanted to destroy it. Paris even survived the Nazis, -who wouldn't afford that same courtesy to Rotterdam or Warsaw.

Because there is so much to do, and so much to see, and it's all real - all rich with art and history.

You have the Notredame, the Musee de Louvre, the Musee d'Orsay, the Sacre Coeur, the Arc du Triomphe, Arc de Defense, Les Halles, Le Centre Pompidou, the cemetery with all those famous historical people - that's just off the top of my head.

Plus you have a lot of other stuff, stores, boutiques, brasseries (cafes), restaurants, parks... Every corner you turn, there is something to do.
