Why can't we just make Mexico a state?

It seems to me that's the only way to stop all this debate about immigration. Seriously, I'm sure we've got enough tanks, and troops,tanks, jets and crap like that left over from Iraq and Afganistan to run through Mexico like crap through a goose. I don't see the problem, they all seem to want to be Americans pretty bad anyway. May as well make it official

at first consideration your question seemed silly, but if we think about one crucial aspect though, possibly a good idea...if......

dont assume that we need the people of Mexico there, it would be very good to get their land and assets and just push all the Mexicans on down to South America....but in a human and decent manner.....let them make friends with Columbia and Venezuela and Chile, etc etc

as an extreme measure, possibly a very viable plan.............good idea for a backup plan to counter the massive invasion from that direction

mexico is such a mess, you have not seen the last year track of it. it's really a cat of a different feather. it's would be easier if you interchange the the mexican and the afrikaan people, and observe them for some time and what would become of mexico. I mean like a population disemination.

both countries appear to be similar in political behavior. This could verify if european americans did a good job in the people training business. loq !

the reasons for intervention must be prepared by all the nationalities of this earth governments. and then the laws of earth takes presidence over countries when they go out of control.

No way.. first we don't want them and second Mexicans don't want to be a part of the US... and most illegal immigrants from Mexico don't really want to become citizens- it wouldn't be a good thing for anyone.. as it is I hear a lot about that we invaded Mexico and stole their land.. when in reality they declared war on us, lost, and then we made them a bunch of money for their land... so I don't think it would be a good idea

Mexico doesn't want to be a state - they have 31 states of their own and Mexico City (which is like Washington DC only it's the largest metropolis in the western hemisphere with more than 19 million residents).

So should we give into the pressures of every other country around the world because it's easier that way?

A good deal of them do not wish to be American,the last election cycle in Mexico nearly voted in a leftist government. and making Mexico a state would have to be at their request. forcible state hood would bring untold consequences and debt to our already indebted nation.Assimilation leads to stagnation. Diversity of governance and laws makes the world a more interesting place don't ya think

Bad idea, we do not need a mess like Mexico and quite frankly I don't think most of them want to be citizens anyway. They wave our flag upside down, they boo Miss America and claim this is their land. They want what they can take out of our country and nothing more. Break us and leave.

It would be far too costly for American taxpayers. They need to clean up their own government. They have showed they can speak up in America. Now they just need to do that in their own country.
