Go to the dealer and buy a shop manual..They are much better than the generic manuals.

the best way to read up on this is to get both genuine and after market Tech books, I've found info from each has helped in the past with one having more info than the other depending on what part your reading.
Follow the Steps and ask questions before during and after you pick up a tool. I'm only talking about the engine here as Gearboxes need too much measuring equipment to do the job proper. Take that to a decent workshop that knows what to do. Gearboxes, for me at least are too much of a head trip.

Heh heh, "Open Source".
HD is VERY serious about copyrights. They've made sites pull scans of installation instructions.

You may get lucky on Ebay, or try some of the Harley forums.

Go to your preferred aftermarket website like J & P cycles or Jirehcycles or where ever and order a sevice manual online. You'll have it within a week. Or put "service manuals" on your search engine and get a company that publishes service manuals. Either one will have manuals even if you own a flat head.

Are you sure you got the id prefix correct?
Isn't a shovelhead an FLH1200?
