any suggestions out there for entertainment that's wholesome, clean, and low priced for a widowed mom with two adolescent children?
where we live, there isn't much to do besides eating out.
from my conversations, life semes to loose some of it's thrill when you loose your mate.

Check out your park district or ymca- they usually have reasonably priced activities for families.

Make a movie night at home - once a week rent a movie, make popcorn, turn off the phone and enjoy!

How about a game night? Invite another family or some moms and their adolescent kids and pick a group board game or cards.

And mom, you can try a class at the local college or an exercise class at the ymca or an interest or hobby at the park district or whereever- just for you! You have to find something for yourself to be interested in outside of your children.
My heart hurts for your loss and I hope you can find interest in life and your future. And even a thrill or two! Time is a great healer.

try your local church for a group?

Bingo night somewhere?

Tennis or Golf at the public facilities with your kids?

Long power walks through the hood and parks?

Romance novels from the library?

The walks will help lift your spirits most, just getting fit will make a big difference. Doing stuff with the kids, because they need you more than ever. Getting out will put you in proximity to gentlemen for when that time is right. No rush to that though.

hang in there and get active.
