I don't know what you mean by cheap -- that's kinda up for interpretation. But, you can always recreate your first date, or the day he proposed. You could take a hot air balloon ride -- it's a great time of year for it. If you live near the coast, you could try for a dinner cruise. If there is something spectacular about the region you live in, you could go visit it -- like the Grand Canyon, or Niagara Falls, or whatever is near you. If it's not too much money for you, a weekend away would be nice. Somewhere not too far away, so you don't have to fly, but far enough that it wouldn't be fun to do for a day trip.

My husband and I were married by a minister in a nondenominational church, and for our 2nd anniversary we had our vows blessed by the Catholic Church.

Just plan a special night in. If you have children, get a babysitter first of all. Make dinner together, rent a movie that you both love, and try something new in bed (that might be the most memorable part) lol. If you are thinking along the lines of a gift for your hubby - i made mine a scapbook for one of our anniversaries. I filled it with things from our relationship. Photos of us together, cards we had given each other, things like movie stubs, etc. from memorable dates that we had went on. I even included some love coupons for things like massages, special treats in bed, etc. www.lovingyou.com has lots of free printables along those lines. You dont even need to go buy expensive scapbooking supplies - a three ring binder will do. You can find printable scapbooking paper online, love poems, quotes, etc. You will just need some items you have kept along the way, paper, a glue stick and your creativity. Good luck! Oh yes, and if you are looking to get out of the house, even just taking a drive and a tent somewhere remote, or even the backyard can be nice. It is always memorable to make love under the stars. Find somewhere local where you can camp for free or cheap, set up a tent, have a couple drinks together, play some cards, or something. Hope you have a nice anniversary.

My son and DIL are on a budget, too. They went to the science museum and saw an Omni-max movie. It was a new experience for her, so it was special. Lunch and a matinee is less expensive than dinner and later movie showing. Perhaps that will work for you. A picnic at your local botanical garden would be beautiful. Have your photo taken (as a couple) at a photography studio, then frame the enlargment. The cost is a lot less than it used to be, but it's best to call ahead and price enlargements. If you look around, you will probably find that some studios are running a special. The enlargements that come with the package on special are very affordable, so stick to that deal.

Man, I hear ya! My wife and I have only been married 3 1/2 years and we're both still in graduate school, so we are broke too!

But you don't need money to do something nice. I surprised her by cooking an awesome dinner, complete with a nice bottle of wine, and some music. Later that night, I jumped in the shower, and when I got out she surprised me by standing there, waiting, in some sexy lingerie with nothing but candlelight in the room! She gave me a back rub, and then some....ya know!

We didn't have to go anywhere fancy or spend tons of money that we don't have, yet we still made each other happy on our anniversary! Be creative!! :)

A picnic in a special spot- wine and cheese and grapes with a portable radio or cd player. You each must share a dream you have for the future. You can dance under the stars and be silly and romantic- then take it home for some sensual massage and fun!

If you have a fireplace and an air conditioner, you could make a fire and have a romantic evening picnic in front of the fireplace in the middle of summer! I turned up the air, lit a fire and had a wonderful time. We still talk about how he said he would never have thought that one up!
