The only reason I ask is all these negative questions from the marriage & divorce section, it's depressing.

Honey that's not odd...that's a miracle. Congratulations on being happily married all these years.

In the world we live in you're right, there are so many more negative thoughts on marriage than positive ones. We are living in a society where women and men have no sense of decency. It doesn't mater if someone is married or not, if someone wants your spouse they will do whatever it takes to have them. They don't think about anyone they might hurt, It's all about getting what you want in life.

Now when someone encounters a little problem in thier marriage, someone is willing to lend a shoulder, unfortunately that shoulder usually ends up laying down with a body on it, and that little problem now becomes a confussed individual who now is so sure they don't want to work on their marriage, that the spouse doesn't stand a chance. OOOPPPPSSSS there's another marriage flushed down the toilet.
So few people anymore concentrate on happiness in thier marriage...they are to busy looking for flaws in thier partner, something so bad that they will feel good about walking out.

It is refreshing to hear that someone is willing to be HAPPY about the choice they made when they said " I DO ". My grandmother had a saying and it went like this.

There is no such thing as a perfect marriage...only two imperfect people headed in the same direction. As long as you look forward to a future together, you'll have no time to look back at each other's mistakes.

I think she was a smart woman.

If we could spend more time Praising each other for things we do right, maybe then we'd come to realize that the faults pale in comparison. Then we wouldn't have a reason to call a quits to marriage.

Here's to another 60 happy years together!!! ( and then some ).

31 years here- Dated her for 8, married for 7 before kids. We have so many shared memories that when ever the goin gets tough we can look back at something together and just laugh.

I agree there is a lot of anger and betrayal in here.

Old Guy- First date was Aug 23, 1976- she puked in my car!

You have found something really rare these days.
People ask what the meaning of life is, and I believe true love, and a love that lasts a lifetime is the answer

Good for you

Oh my God!, you should be in love for the rest of your life, not only 10 years. It is not odd, but frankly, no offence, rather it is quite odd and surprising that you asked?

MMM IT ALL DEPENDS..
Are you still with him / her?
if yes.. the only ODD part is that you are even asking this question.
of course love last. its not like a switch that we can trun on and off at will..
(that kind of sucks some thimes when the person you love does not loves you back)

NO! It is wonderful and special and you should hang on tight and keep doing what you are doing!
More people talk about what is wrong than about what is right with a relationship so you see more of that here. It is relationships like yours that give the rest of us hope!
Thanks for sharing.

No! Thanks for a chance to respond to something POSITIVELY! We have been married for almost 18 years, totally happily! Though we've had tough times, as everyone does, our love has grown and deepened, and we are MORE in love than we ever were!
