People ask questions for various reasons... they're genuinely interested in the answers, they're trolling for reactions, they're trying to build a reputation, they're trying to be funny... it's up to you to decide if your question is worth losing 5 pts.

Its always worth asking questions because one or the other person might get us relief by solving our querry , which is our curiosity to know the answer. Not to worry much about loosing points because what we gain is a good answer , when we work on it with patience. So , its certainly worth asking questions and no matter we loose points . lets keep ataempting .

I think so. If you choose a best answer for your question then you get 3 of the points back anyway, and if you really need to know something this is a good way to get answers. Plus its fun, and its not like the points are good for anything anyway! If we got paid for the points that might be different...

Isn't it fun asking questions and getting stars? When I'm having a terrible/horrible day, I come on P&S and read or aanswer someone's question. That makes the whole day better, especially when I laugh till the coffee comes out my nose or when I get the same compliment from other Yahooers.

It's worth it to me, I like asking questions and answering them as well. If no one asked a question then we would all be sitting here with nothing to do! And when you pick best answer you get back 3 pts, so all you have to do is answer another question to start back where you started...

Depends on the question. If you have a question that you want answered, that's what Yahoo Answers is for. The reason they make you lose points is so they can make you answer other people's questions, not just ask your own.

Yes- if you have already looked in the resolved questions for what you want to know. But sometimes I wonder why people ask such an obvious question and waste the points!

Who cares ? Asking questions gains knowledge, and no matter what anyone says, there is no such thing as a stupid question.
Besides, if it weren't for a certain someone asking so many questions, I never would have gotten to know her a little better.

it wasn't worth asking this question
but if you have a burning question inside you ask it
i mean really how are these flipping points going to help you in life
you wouldn't go to a job interview and write on your resamay
that you have over 5000 yahoo answer points
