It really depends on the 14 year old. The movies that are scary like the ring might be fine for some but not fine for others, I know when I watched it for the first time it was well taking care of a friend's kid and I was the one not the kid who was freaked out by the movie so if your kid isn't afraid of those things then I'd say it's fine... The rest kind of go off the same reasoning, none are so bad that I'd say no 14 year old should see them. THe Lord of the rings jumps out as one that I think most any kid above 9 or 10 should be able to see. As long as you take the time to explain what they don't understand, or that scary things are real it's fine. 14 isn't really all the young.

Live Free or Die Hard - yes, but expect cussing and violence; however it would keep him/her entertained.

Sicko - yes, but i don't thing he/she would be too entertained. it might go over his/her head due to the subject matter.

Hostel 2 - No, way too graphic, gory and violent.

1408 - maybe, this is supposed to be a horror and may produce nightmares.

The Ring - maybe, also a horror movie and can also produce nightmares. also shows mutiple characters commiting suicide.

It - yes, it's dated and not that scary...even though a clown is killing people.

A Clockwork Orange - Heck No, while it is dated. the movie follows a gang of serial killers, contains cussing, violents, nudity, and a graphic rape scene of a woman in which the husband is forced to watch.

Crank - yes, typical action flick, contains cursing and violence, possilbe sexual content though.

Monster House, yes it's a fairly funny and action packed animated film.

Lord of the Rings Series - Oh Yes, this is a great series and even better to watch. It has some violence, strong bonds of friendship, action, suspence, fantasy action, betrayl, love, and adventure. the graphics and special effects are great and the series is well developed.

Knocked Up - maybe, while it is supposed to be humorous you should know just by looking at the title there will be heavy sexual content. also shows an uncut scene of a woman giving birth. i hope the two of you have had "The Talk" if he/she does go to see the movie.

The only movies there appropriate for 14-year-old children are LFoDH, Sicko, 1408, The Ring, Monster House and Lord of the Rings because they're PG-13. Movies get rated for a reason.

I'm sure a 14 year old would say "yes" to any of those, but if you're an adult watching it with her/him, that's a different story.

live free or die hard - YES - it's only rated PG-13, lots of action, not much blood, little cursing

Sicko - YES

Hostel2 - NO - I don't think anyone should see this, it's disgusting

1408 - YES - again, it's only rated PG-13

The ring - YES

IT - haven't seen

a clockwork orange - YES - there is sex and violence, but it's presented in an intelligent and unique way, it's not gratuitous (like Hostel 2)

crank - don't know

monster house - YES

lord of the ring series - YES

knocked up - you know what? YES - sure, it's rated R but it's just sexual humor and one not so alluring sex scene that leads to unwanted pregnancy, but it shows the joy of parenting and will probably scare any teen into making sure to use condoms!

live free or die hard- Not without adult supervision
\
Sicko- yes, with adult supervision and discussion afterward

Hostel2- no,a sexual sadist fantasy snuff film- hardly appropriate for a 14 year old

1408- no
The ring-no
IT-no
These 3 films can scare the crap out of grown ups, psychological horror thrillers can mess with kids for life- my sister law won't take her kids to a circus because she saw IT.

a clockwork orange- sexually deviant hooligan teens- no

crank- don't know enough about it

monster house- may be too young, but nothing inappropiate

the lord of the ring series- perfectly fine

knocked up- a movie about an unprotected one night stand ending pregnancy- no- that is a talk you need to have with the 14 year old about what not to do a movie is no way to teach that lesson

personally, i think most 14 year olds are old enough for most any movie, but i can see why some things might be less appropriate...

Live Free or Die Hard is rated PG-13, so it should be fine... the others in the series were quiet violent and had some offensive language, but still weren't that objectionable...

Sicko... none of Michael Moore's truth twisting films are right for people of any age...

Hostel 2? i would have to say no... extremely brutal and disturbing violence... you might want to keep a 14 yr old away unless he/she has shown himself/herself able to deal with such things...

1408 has disturbing imagery, but i dont think it is anything beyond what a 14 yr old can handle...

The Ring... maybe a little disturbing, but would probably be fine...

IT... it was made for TV, so there is no graphic violence or harsh language.... some disturbing imagery, but nothing a 14 yr old couldnt handle...

A Clockwork Orange... probably not... most 14 year olds wouldnt get it...

Crank is just pure fun... yes, there is violence and cursing, but it is fun... nothing too bad in it...

Monster House is probably too 'young' for a 14 yr old... but nothing to worry about...

Lord of the Rings is fine for any age...

Knocked Up would be fine... the people it would be too 'adult' for would the ones not old enough to understand the subject matter anyway...

Live free or Die hard- Yes, if you don't mind explosions, cussing and lots of blood.
Sicko- IDK
Hostel2- It will produce some sort of nightmares...
1408- Haunted hotel room? Classic story. Not that scary. To me anyway...
The Ring- Please, the movie made me laugh hysterically!
IT- As a three year old child I would get up at 2 am and watch this alone in the dark. My mom was worried...
A Clockwork Orange- IDK
Crank- IDK
Monster House- It's rated PG.
Lord Of The Rings- Fine. I liked it.
Knocked Up- It shows EVERYTHING.

I hope this helped...

monster house, lord of the rings are okay
maybe even the ring if they are not sensitive to horror stuff
i think live free or die hard would be okay as well
hostel 2, 1408, a clockwork orange, are not appropriate at all...the rest i don't know well enough to judge
