I've heard it is a country but why does it just say United Kingdom? Does it have a capital or anything? Simple answers please; no long explanations of history and crap. Thx

Scotland is a principate, as is Wales, and yes, its a country in its own merits, capital city Edimburgh, subject to the British Crown by plebiscite (peoples vote), and yes, also is PART of the United Kingdom, or Great Britain, of which the United States were once a Colony....of course...with its own anthem and Flag....

Scotland is a country and has its own capital (Edinburgh) and its own parliament. They are part of the United Kingdom, which consists of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

Not in a strict sense. It has it's own language and culture, but legally it is not a separate country. It belongs to the UK, and has since 1707.

It says that becuse its attached to England!!!

And yes if it wasnt its own country, then it would probably be England!
