I personally wish you wouldn't put all straight people in that catagory because I'm straight but I do have some gay friends who are very dear to me.

Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and to be appreciated for who they are. I'm equally uncomfortable seeing a man and woman groping and pawing each other in public, and seeing a same-sex couple doing the same thing. I'm a bit of a prude, so I think anything more than a quick smooch or holding hands should be saved for somewhere private.
I'm straight, and I'm a Christian. I do NOT hate homosexuals. Everyone who respects me will be respected by me. Life can be so full of joy, and if your joy is found sharing your life with a partner of the same or opposite sex, great. It has nothing to do with me.
Something I hate about our current culture is that so many people are on a soap box about homosexuality. I believe it's a sin, but I don't get in people's faces and tell them they're going to hell. I believe it's a sin just as much as lying, stealing and adultery are. I wish all the windbags in politics would spend as much time bleating about adultery as they do about homosexuality.
You know how it goes - let he who is without sin cast the first stone? No one is perfect, but I sure wish the ranters and ravers out there would examine their own lives for shortcomings before being so hateful towards others.

Right now, straights do have more rights then gays. And that's because for so long everything has been run by straight men (or men who pretended to be straight for fear of being maligned for being gay). Of course it's not right but it takes time and lot of pushing to make changes happen, to get those narrow-minded people to see that what they were raised on, what they've believed up until now is simply WRONG. People can change their attitudes and beliefs, often slowly and more like pulling a mule up a ladder but it can and does happen. Just continue to be you and set a fine example, it'll happen, maybe not in my lifetime but it will happen (as more gay politicians and lawyers and judges come out the closet).

Its not fair that you classify gays and everyone else. There is a small number of folks that may think that way and it is primarily because they are stupid, stupid and dumb. Uneducated people feel that way. I see everyone equal, but then I see questions such as yours playing the victim. I can also point out a great tip for you.......its your fault. Did you notice that you refer to straight people as "normal", so where does that put you? Do you see what you are doing to yourself? It is some homosexuals that put themselves in this position, not society. Stop playing the victim and live your life the way you want to. Who cares what people think about homosexuals! The more you complain, the more people will be critical. But honestly, I believe the majority of todays world is open and acceptable to homosexuals. When I was young and I started working at May Company when I was 17, I met two men that are homosexuals who didn't know each other. We three became such good friends and never have I met such beautiful souls as both of them. And since then, I have met many homosexuals men and woman and I tend to think homosexuals have a special unique soul. So please stop feeling like everyone hates homosexuals, because I honestly don't think its as many people as you think. Good Luck!

Its a human thing, like rich white guys that act all black and stuff. Its the whole being raised and its just complitcated, humans are flaws and they are stupid! They hate what they dont understand. And its annoying seeing straight people make fun of gays, i mean either way if you are good you will go to heaven and etc..(not trying to be all religious). And since when was being gay bad? God made people who they are and things happen for a reason(again not trying to be religious). And to me, being Gay is a lot better, cuz straight guys are pigs and they make women pregnant etc... But really, i cant answer your question with a deffinate answer, but hope this one works. =)

because they are ignorant. Everyone has equal rights, except religious rituals, like Marriage, because the religions have the right to keep their ceremonies according to their tradition. ( I think because of that , we need Humanist Ministers to be allowed to perform same sex marriages and be legally recognized)
But , everyone has the same rights so if people don't agree, they are ignorant and they need to get their heads out of their butts and stop following what others say out of fear of not belonging and get some balls about themselves and be human again.
I'm taking Gay back. It means Happy, people!!!!!!
I'm Gay!!!!!! Very , Very Gay!!!! Stop using the word like its bad!!! Its a good word.
heterosexuals cannot understand same sex couples. Most don't even know that animals with high IQs , like Dolphins, have gay sex for fun. It is a natural part of being an animal and people need to wake up and realize that we are an animal and not a supreme being!!!
get along, everyone! Stop the hate!!!!!

Because the GLBT community is a minority. Heterosexuality is the majority. Ergo, the majority must assert itself over the minority. Look at what happened to the small black population in America, and what's happening to the Hispanic population right now. Unfortunately, it's just human nature.

In general the statement is true. I can't marry. At most company's I can't get on my partners health insurance. If something happens to my life long partner I can't make a health choice for him, Can't adopt. Can't file joint tax forms, this have to pay more taxes then married straights. And the list goes on and on.

the same reason christians think they have more rights that non christians...it's a survival of the fitest type thing and really very ignorant...some are so afraid of having homosexual tendencies they will portray their sexuality as stronger...i really could care less either way...you are a person...no better or worse than me...we breathe the same air and live as humans so their is no real difference...except i need coffee in the morning and not to be talked to until i have had 2 cups :)

I'm straight and don't feel that way. As of now a majority of Americans support either gay marriage or civil unions which give gay unioned couples equal rights to straight married couples. so things are definitely changing regarding attitudes towards gays.
