Mickey Mantle. He could real shag 'em. And there was no better switch hitter in history. Joe Dimaggio was Ted William's pick for best all round ballplayer, but the Mick simply passed him up. Bernie Williams is one of the most outstanding people who ever played the game, but not the best player.

Mickey mantle....at 18 years old i can't claim to have seen any of them except Bernie. Joe D and Mickey are probably 2 of the four greatest along with Ty Cobb and the say hey kid willie mays. Mantle had the power and DiMaggio obviously had the streak and the average. Keep in mind Mantle retired at number 5 on the all-time home run list. Since then he's fallen to 13th. He was the first great switch hitter. If it wern't for injuries and alcohol abuse it's hard to imagein just how big of number he would have put up. It's hard to compare the two since they played in different eras but i go with Mantle.

If Mantle had sayed healthy maybe I would say him but because of his knees I have to go with Joe D.

I only got to see Bernie play but from my baseball knowledge and a couple conversations with some lucky fans I would have to go with Micky Mantle.

It'll be Melky unless he gets traded to Minnesota for Santana. In that case, they have no choice but to run Damon out there. Not ideal, but getting Santana will more than make up for it. Trust me, they NEED Santana to compete with the Boston Evil Empire!!!
