I love all those bands (I went to a FOB concert yesterday) and I suggest you check out some of the awesome alternative and grunge bands from the 90s. Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, Goo Goo Dolls, Gin Blossoms, Dishwalla, Live, etc. I also suggest you go back to the roots of where this music came from. Check out some older 80s stuff, like The Smiths, The Cure, The Clash, The Beatles (because every type of rock evolved from that), I also like Aerosmith, Cyndi Lauper, Bon Jovi, and I really do suggest that anyone who can hear my voice please look into some of Michael Jackson's music before only knowing him as an alleged child molestor.

As for modern music, check out the Hush Sound, Hellogoodbye, System of a Down, Hoobastank, Matchbox 20, and 3 Doors Down, etc.
