There is no such things as a "Learning Disability" it is "Learning Differently" and we all learn differently! First you need to speak with a doctor about this problem and make sure nothing else is going on. There are lots of people that are hands on learners, try to make a connection with something physical that you are trying to remember. This is most generaly a life long challenge but if you keep working at it you will find something that will help you. Remember this is the way your brain works, try to work with it. Writing things down as you study them can be helpful. Take lots of notes. If there's something you don't understand, ask questions or make use of reference material. Use of word association is also a good memory tool. So is repetition. Even people without learning disabilities can make use of these memory helpers. A lot also depends on the material you're studying. If it's something you're really interested in, you'll remember it much more than something boring, like historical dates. But going back to my first suggestion, if you have notes and other written material to refer back to, you'll be more than likely to remember it. Good luck!

Repetition. Try writing things, or saying them, over and over. Once you have done that take a break, give your mind a few minutes to rest and go back and do it again. After a few times you should have it down pretty good. But, trying to read something and remember all of it the first time is a little tough on anybody, I think.

You can learn something to a song you know. Or you can memorize something and attach it something else. For example, to remember the capitol of New York, you can say, "I'll be in N(ew) Y(ork)" (Albany); or however you want to do it. For dialing people's numbers, just get a FotoDialer. It allows you to call people based on their picture. When you want to call them, just find their photograph and push the button next to their face and the FotoDialer calls them through your phone. With the FotoDialer, you won't have to memorize numbers, only faces. Good luck!

You have to understand what it is you're trying to learn and not just memorize it and because you are special you have to do this lots of times repeatedly.
