This question is preferably for an experienced guitar player. Yes I know everyone has the ability to say no. But I hate that word. It should be taken out of the english language. Well anyway I have kind of bad memory so it can be hard for me to try and play some pieces with so many different notes. But I have the patience to take as long as it takes. I don't think there is any other choice of expression I am willing to except.

OF COURSE! Like they say, poractice makes perfect. XD Just get some lessons, practice a lot, and don't lose confidence in yourself. Stay strong and you will soon be a master at guitar. Never back down, keep trying. Start out by learning "Hot, Crust Buns" and then gradually move up to harder songs like "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star". I know, they are a bit childish, but you have to start somewhere, right? I'm learning to play guitar, and yes, it is tough...but I know I will be good at it sooner or later. I hope everything works out between you and your guitar. Lol. BEST OF WISHES! ~Bri

sometimes guitar just comes naturaly to people and sometimes you have to practice hardcore to become good and talented, i think guitar can be of a more of a situation where you can or you cant play. but if your willing to do anything to play guitar then you can deffinatly play.

give yourself some time becuase you wont see results in a couple days, or maybe even weeks but you will improve if you keep trying.

go on the interent and find some tabs its a really easy way to learn. Check out these songs to play

smells like teen spirit by nirvana
iron man by black sabbath
one by metallica
heartbreaker by led zeppelin

feel free to email me or IM me about anything else...

well your on the right path my friend, passion is all that matters, i have a horible memory but i can't count the number of songs i can sing and play. I can now learn any song by ear
(even chords) and i can play lead (improvise) on the spot. If you have passion it will make up for any shortcomings (for example have you seen the guy who plays w/his feet?) Keep practicing and don't let anyone disscouage you. o by the way im entirely self taught

You need to learn to play a song that is so automatic you just play - not remember it. Practice the song in your mind, not just on the guitar. Let the song own you, and don't be so concerned about memorizing. Start with easy songs.

I believe that if you have that determination and fire in you, you will reach that certain level you're aiming for. We are sort of in the same position. I'm frustrated as well. I feel hopeless at times but I realize I shouldn't because nobody's stopping me but myself. Right? So why should I put myself down when I can rise to the occasion?

Well... My advice is if you do have the patience go get a teacher... also activeguitar.com should help a little... Teachers will erally help... And as for pieces, all you have to do is download a tab and look at that... powertabs.net for that.
