I liked them as a tosser in the 70's but after "Rocks", they were hit or miss....I saw them 3 times in the 70's but they totally lost it after that!! Joe Perry made a couple of solo albums in the 80's that were good but by then, Aerosmith were has beens & still are....they make crap now!!

Hell Yeah they are!! They have so many catchy, all-America hits like Walk This Way, and Same Old Song And Dance, Sweet Emotion, and Dream On, and many, many others! On their CD, it says "America's Greatest Rock Band", and they truly, truly are!
And to that other girl, The Beatles are from England, i think the asker was talking about AMERICAN rock bands,
I love Aerosmith! They rock!!!! They certainly rock harder than some of these weird modern bands (i'm 15 and sayin' this lol!).

Everybody has there own opinion, but i think what most people should think about is that they have been around since the 70's that's amazing and producing great hits through out there Career i mean they have been around for almost 4 decades that's huge in the music business that's amazing, and they have adapted to different era's and been able to produce hit songs in the 70's, 80's 90's 00's etc. they defiantly deserve an award for standing the time, b/c that's huge. I mean how many bands do we forget about A Lot so i defiantly think they stood the time and deserve to be acknowledged as a successful rock band.

Some seem confused as to what bands hail from America vs other places. They are a great band. What's your opinion? I find it hard to come up with a band I'd consider all time greatest. Lynyrd Skynyrd would have to be right at the top though (another good ole Southern group).

Even in the '70s, they were not America's greatest rock and roll band, but they were still quite good. They've outright sucked since the late '80s.

No, they're one of the greatest, but I think there's better, like the Jimi Hendrix Experience. I do like Aerosmith though...

BTW, AC/DC is from Australia, not America ^ ...

...Ok, sorry person above, just pointing something out ^ ...

Although they are a great band, there are several bands to consider. Bands like the Beatles, Rolling Stones, and Led Zeppelin are bands that many would throw in there. Sadly in a majority vote, they are not the band you will find on top.

yes. And they always will be. Steven Tyler is a Legend. Aerosmith has put out some of the best songs ever written, and no one, I repeat NO ONE, will ever top them.

I much prefer them to the Stones in concert, but they did release a lot of flops that should have been further produced.

But, as an avid listener and owner of every one of their records, let me say the proof is in the pudding--Disney didn't build a Rockin' Roller Coaster with any other bands' theme, did they?
