It cannot be moved because it cannot be modified, error message comes up. I tried to change the ownership and permissions part in the the Get Info section but it won't work. I really need to get this drive to work on the Mac.

yes becasue it needs to be formated as a mac jornaled drive so it can write to it. get all ur data off of it and go nto disk utility on the mac and format it

If you simply want the drive for additional storage - the answer above is essentially correct. However if you want to access the drive because it has information on it that you need, then you have several options depending on the mac os you are using.
You could access the information via a network by putting the drive into another computer that is on your home/business networkl - newer macintosh operating systems should have no issue at all with seeing the drive. Older OS versions (about 7.1 or earlier I think) may require additional software to see the drive.
