I've had some of the greatest times of my life there! (I'm a metro Detroiter). Everytime I've gone there, I met some of friendliest people - from all over the country. Last trip was to see U2 in May 2005; been to Wrigley in the bleachers several times to hear Harry sing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" (met Billy Williams in the concourse!). So many pockets of fun spots - cabs rides everywhere. Even dated a really nice girl for a little bit - long-distance made it tough though....Saw Stevie Wonder in a free concert at the TasteFest one year - an amazing time! The lakefront beach and chess games, the wide variety of ethnic festivals in the ethnic neighborhood, the Rock-N-Roll McDonalds, Navy Pier, Billy Goat Tavern (the original underground "Cheeborger, no fry, chip" place on lower Wacker). Second City, Harry Carey's....the list goes on and on and on.... It's my favorite city to vist...

Jackson Park - Famous for its role in the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition where much of the White City was built.

Its windy and the city is very busy like most cities. There are some great hotels and sites to see. Univeristy of Chicago is one of the best universities in the world. Chicago has a good football team, but both baseball teams stink.

The Field Museum and Museum of Science and INdustry are required trips for nearly all IL school children. Lord knows I was dragged there by hot yellow bus damn near every year.

Also, Michigan Avenue is silly with Christmas cheer, long as you don;t live there and come by charter bus.

Anyone who does not live in Chicago, is crap their pants scared to drive there.

And ever since Harry Caray and Mike Royko died what's the point?

Chicago was like my 2nd home growing up. I'd live there if it weren't for the winters...

PS-my daughter was conceived on Valentine's Day while we were stuck on the side of the road (Kennedy Expwy) in a blizzard in Chicago.

Many reasons why Chicago would be one of the places I'd love to live in! Plus one is that Illinois is right next to where I'm from, Indiana!
