Passive transport - diffusion from higher to lower concentration, either directly between the phospholipids or through special proteins.

Active transport - passing from lower to higher concentration by the action of special proteins that grab the materials on the lower concentration side and use energy to change shape and fling the material out into the higher concentration side.

Bulk transport - endocytosis or exocytosis in eukaryotic cells without cell walls

Prokaryotic cell - The movement of substances across or in & out of the cell is through the process of BULK TRANSPORT i.e the cell engulfs the whole mass- ENDOCYTOSIS.It also releases the waste from it .It leaves the waste mass on the surface of the habbitat-EXOCYTOSIS.

Eukaryotic cell - the movement of is through :
DIFFUSION - movement of substance from a region of higher concentration to a region of lower concentration.
OSMOSIS - the movement of substance from a region of higher concentration to a region of lower concentration through a semi-permiable membrane.
