An army of occupation has to be totally ruthless. That means you don't arm the people you're trying instill fear into. All the 'training' the Bush Junta is responsible for has turned out to be worthless. We're in Iraq to dominate it by establishing a Vichy Iraq puppet government and back it up with US military might. Why not just admit that? There is no real nation of Iraq, so why pretend that there is?

Im not sure which side youre on. Do you favor the US being a "ruthless" occupying power, or do you just want to know what happened to all those billions spent?

Myself, Im more interested in the money. You make a valid point; The US can take a completely retarded teenaged individual with no experience or discipline, and make him a raw-meat eating killing machine in as little as 70 days. It has been over FOUR YEARS in Iraq, they either don't give a crap about defending their new "democracy" or they as a society are not mature enough to see the benefits freedom would bring. Of course, they arent SEEING a lot of that freedom, in fact they arent seeing much of anything, since the lights still dont work in Baghdad so the TVs wont play.

If you actually bother to listen to the troops they will tell of you all the success the Iraqi police and the Iraqi army are making. They are doing better then the media would want you to think.
