It's fake fur. It had a look and feel of fur, and was available in a variety of colours. It was used mainly to make winter coats. I think it was a by-product of the petroleum industy, just as rayon, nylon, polyester and microfibre are It was very popular in the 60s and 70s.

It may describe the style of the jacket. A borg coat would have some sort of family or military crest on it.

Also, it may be describing another style of jacket, a ski jacket.
