In a sense, yes. If everyone in the world were kind and considerate and optimistic, there wouldn't be anyone around to cause the pain and suffering that often drives people to a psychologist's office. So yes, by causing pain in the lives of others, the negative and mean people of the world ensure that psychologists, psychotherapists, and psychiatrists will always have business.
