The Motorola C139 is a pretty good phone... it's very basic. It doesn't have a ton of features, but I used one for a temporary replacement after breaking my phone. It had great call quality, color screen, great battery life, etc. It is a Cingular Go Phone, available at Walmart/Sam's Club for about $18. By the way, it's also adorable! Very small, and there are changeable snap-on faceplates, too, if you like to personalize your phone. Good luck! Getting your first cell phone is so exciting! :-)

I would get the Motorola V235 go phone from cingular. It has a camera, mp3 ringtones, downloadable games, and many more awesome features. It's pay as you go but ALSO lets you make free calls to any cingular customer.

the bare bones miniumum cheap phone is best. whey spend money on a cell phone. it is a convenience not an essetial.
