Katherine (Worsley), Duchess of Kent, might be an example. She married King George V's grandson Edward in 1961, with all the royal fanfare. Having gone through depression and some bad times, she was received into the Catholic faith in 1994 - the first modern royal to do so - and now lives in a bedsit in West London teaching music. She felt that being "Her Royal Highness" wasn't relevant to this day and age, and that a load has been lifted from her shoulders. The Duchess now lives a thoroughly ordinary life.
If you care to find it, I edited this from an article in the Daily Mail of 22.11.03, written by Geoffrey Levy.
I don't think that Christianity and royalty are contradictions necessarily; it doesn't follow that if you're rich you're bad. There are plenty of poor, bad people around! It's what you do with your wealth and/or privilege that matters, and how you behave.

Recent History can be several thousand years old! So Jesus is the Royal Heir of the throne of David, on both his Natural mothers side of the family and his Adopted Fathers side of the family. Yet He shunned an earthly kingdom for living and teaching among the poor, and for the right to a much greater heavenly kingdom. So to me 3000 years is recent history! So yeah! Jesus is my answer!

Grand Duchess Elizabeth was the sister of the Czarina Alexandra, and married Grand Duke Sergei. After his death, she became a nun, and spent the rest of her life doing charity work. She founded a soup kitchen for the poor of Moscow.
After the Russian Revolution, she was murdered by Bolsheviks, like the rest of the Czar's family. She and her companions were thrown down a mine shaft, and it is said that her voice could be heard for days afterward, singing hymns. She was beatified by the Russian Orthodox Church as New Martyr Elizabeth.
Also, Prince Philip's mother became a nun after the breakup of her marriage.

yes myself to a degree-as a Jew if I denounce Jesus I will be put back into my Jewish families will-Mother Teresa was offered a nice home in India and she said no I desire to live as those that I help live-sleeping on a slate at night and eating the same food as they did.
this is how I was helped to see beyond materialism=this is how I as a Jew came to know Jesus personally
"Unto us a child is born, a son is given, and he will be the mighty God, and the prince of peace." Isaiah 9:6
the answer is still in the salvation of the soul-till then we are on the outside looking in. Revelation 22 "Do not add to my word or take from it or you will receieve plagues, and never find salvation.
this is how I got salvation-believing the Word of God="I love you, and ask you to repent of your sins (even one lie) quickly. Behold I stand at your heart door and knock if you hear my words and ask me in, I will come in and be your friend." Revelation 1:1=Jesus words spoken from heaven & 3:19&20
so i prayed "Jesus I am sorry for my sins, come into my heart and help me, be my friend, amen."
Now Jesus is my Messiah, Bright and morning star, best friend, and savior, he comforts and keeps me, and His word has become the love letter of my life in Spirit and in truth.
Praying the best for you too, David
