It is one step closer to government controlled media.

Look, there just isn't a market for liberal talk radio. I'm sorry, but it has failed. Conservative talk radio does garner an audience though, which is why there is so much of it.

I'm all for hearing both sides of the story, but I listen to radio more for entertainment than news, and it isn't going to be entertaining if a lib interrupts whoever every 5 seconds to disagree. I will research the other side on my own time.

If you want liberal radio so much go into the business yourself and I guarantee your show will flounder and die, sorry.

First of all, you are asking a question that is more an opinion than a question. Especially when you use the word "lib" or "liberal".

The correct question would be "Is the Fairness Doctrine unfair?

The answer to that depends on who you are asking.

Because A: We have Freedom of Speech in this country, this doctrine stipulates what view point has to be spewed and how often. B: We live in a free market society, If people want to listen to left leaning talk radio, they have NPR and Air America. The problem is, no one wants to listen to it. Radio stations are NOT going to "keep score" as to who says what and for how long. There was a time when this doctrine may have been needed but now days there are many sources for news, not just the radio. People can get what they want now, there's no reason to give the FCC anymore power.
