can i use a diffrent mower deck on my craftsman riding mower how do i know what will work?

Try Sears.com and click on the parts tab. Type in your model # . It will give you the diagram and parts list for that model. If your donor mower has the same part numbers for the deck, it will work!
Or do a side-by-side comparison for deck mounts, pulley placement, engagement linkages, just give it a really good look-over.
Remember to save your old deck, it has many useful parts still on it!

The mower decks are pretty unit specific. Each one is a little different. Would be best to try to stick with craftsman. They are or used to be made by AYP.
