Classic Horror: Nightmare on Elm Street 1 or 4, Friday the 13th, The Exorcist, Psycho, Dawn of the Dead, Night of the Living Dead, It, The Shining
Torture and Gore: Ichi the Killer, Imprint, Audition, Hostel, The Dentist

I can't say one single favorite, but my choices would have to be the early Friday the 13th movies, most of the Nightmare on Elm Street series, Children of the Corn (THE ORIGINAL FROM THE 1970s!!) or anything by Stephen King, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Hills Have Eyes (original and remake), and the list goes on until infinity.

Well I am a huge fan of all the Halloween movies and they are all really good except the 3rd one that made absolutely no sense whatsoever.Pulse is a really good one that came out not too long ago either and it scared the sh it outta me! I was watching it laying in bed with my husband who went to sleep!Then i was thirsty so I like ran to the kitchen and was turning all the lights on and it was just too funny!That is out in video stores and is playing on stars or either showtime!!

Halloween is the best horror movie ever made.
Unfortunately the series also has two of the worst horror movies ever made (halloween 3 and halloween ressurection).

There really isn't any good horror movie. Maybe Saw I, and Saw II. 28 weeks later was a good movie, but it isn't really a horror film.

saw and saw II i think are the best scary movies but some others are 1408, disturbia, the grudge 1 and 2, premonition, the ring, and gothika isnt really scary but its a good movie, and more i cant think of of right now
