You don't. That's part of the fun of it. Carry some wet wipes in your purse or pocket for sticky fingers and faces.

Small pieces and close your mouth when you're eating it. I don't like cotton candy thought because my hands get sticky eating it.
I have this thing, I can't stand sticky hands. I can't touch anything with wet or sticky or really dry hands.
