How can I sleep naked?

Question

I don't sleep with my door shut or locked (it can be unlocked from the outside), I'm 15 years old. I'd like to start. My mother would freak out it she caught me. I don't have the covers all over the floor in the morning. Should I sneak and do it anyways and have my boxers under the pillow, also I have a sister that likes to come in and get a piece of paper. What shold I do? Ask my parents, if so how to bring it up, or should I?

This is not complicated. You need and are entitled to some privacy. Your mom and sister need to show you some respect.
You need to sleep with your door shut. your mom should not freak out she's seen you naked before.

I don't see what the big deal is. Sure your mother might get a surprise seeing you nude but it's not as if she doesn't know what one looks like; I bet she's seen at least one or two in her time.

As for your sister coming and going, unless you keep the paper she wants in your bed, she has no reason to pull the covers down. So she might come in, get paper and leave many times and never realize you are naked under the sheets. Only if you are parading around the room nude might she get an eyeful.

Regarding the door to your room, push it partly closed at night when you are going to prepare for bed. It doesn't need to be closed tight; just enough that anyone walking by cannot see you undressing.

Sneaking isn't the right approach. Simply undress and go to bed. Put your clothes in the normal place you do every night and don't give it a second thought. And if anyone sees, just act like it's perfectly normal for you to be naked at night (which it will be in no time once you start sleeping naked). No one is going to care anyway.

What is it about sleeping naked that is so important to you? If your door can be unlocked from the outside then change the lock. If that is not an option then talk to your dad and remind him of what it was like for him to be your age and let him know you need your privacy. If that doesn't work then I might just go ahead and start sleeping naked and after your sister or mom comes in sees you then they will get the idea that you should be allowed your privacy.

This may be your best bet; however, the thing that worked best for me was to tell my mother (whom is the only living parent that I still have -- Daddy died before I was born) that I would start to sleep in the nude; however, my situation differed from yours in the fact that I had no other siblings at the time I turned 10 and older. They had married and moved out of the house.

In your situation, the best thing to do is to ask to have a lock placed on your door for the INSIDE of your door. Also, if your sister likes to come and get pieces of paper out of your room, perhaps you could design a bin or something similar to store the paper outside of your room, or you could place it in her room in order for her to get it in her room.

Also, it may be a good idea to start sleeping with the door closed. It could be possible that they would automatically get the inclination that you would rather like to be left in closed space during the night and knock upon entering.

Believe me, it may be a good idea to have a pair of boxers handy. Since my room is closest to the back door, and since my mother is beginning to become unable to answer the door if someone knocks in the middle of the night (either she don't hear it, or she can't get up quickly because of the fact she has no discs in her back and her hip is out of whack), I find myself jumping out of the bed. Having one close in hand could prevent a "disaster" from occuring.

If you're going to bring it up, I would suggest doing it in a discreet way to where it does not sound too oppressive. Explain that you would feel more comfortable during sleep this way. Although, I'm sure that you will find your own way that will work. Remember, in a situation like that, the best thing you can do is to think about it carefully.

I have been sleeping naked since I was 13, now I am 14. I keep my door closed when i sleep. My door doesnt lock, but usually my parent respect my privacy. just incase, I keep basketball shorts on the bottom of one of my legs so i can quickly pull it up if someone comes in. You dont need to tell your parents. Just do it. and if you get caught, your parents may not get mad. maybe your dad sleeps naked. My dad does so i know he will understand.

Simply ask your parents for a lock on your door. Or even just to let people understand they need to knock first. Sleeping naked isn't a big deal, and if you have to tell them let them know that it's nothing sexual its just that it's how you sleep best without getting tangled in sheets or whever the reason.

It's not as big of a deal as you might think when your a teenager. And most of the time simply asking for everyone to knock first is enough.

I started sleeping naked and not wearing underwear when I was 10. I was very nervous about my mom catching me at first. I would even put clean unworn boxers in the wash so that she would not notice. I also slept at night with my underwear close at hand just in case.
That just added to the thrill and exhilaration of being naked. I never did get caught and I still sleep naked. ( no you should NOT talk to your parents about it, that would just be weird). The sister thing, well she's just your sister.

In all honestly, sleepin naked is not a big deal. I bet your parents do it lol. It should be easy to talk to them about. Maybe just say, "hey mom, it gets really hott at night and I think I am goin to start wearing less clothes to bed, if any at all, and I would really apreciate some privacy. So if you guys could knock before you come in that would be awesome. Just trying to help you guys out too, cuz I know ya dont wanna see me naked" See no big deal :) Or you could just be funny and post a sign on your door saying "caution, sleeping naked, please avert your eyes." lol

I sleep naked, its much comfier. I dont have a lock on my door and I have 3 younger siblings 11, 8 and 2 who always walk in, I have lots of pillows and sleep next to the wall that way you have more things to cover up with =} just do it anyway, they are your family they wont freak, just remeber your mum gave birth to you and rubbed cream on your todger when you had a nappy rash, she has already seen it but just not as develpoed

kind of touchy at this age. you still have people coming in at out all the time. don't ask if you can sleep naked. that's to much for information for a mom. you might talk to you dad or just ask if people would please stop coming in your room w/o being invited. all guys your age need privacy. everyone does.it's time your family started respecting your privacy and wait to be told it's okay to come in. just talk to your folks about people knocking before they enter. i don't think that would be a problem. when you're comfortable and sure that they'll knock first, go ahaed, sleep anyway you want. put something in front of the door first or ask your dad if you can change it so the door locks from the inside.
