Priori incantatem, which is a special form of the prior incantato spell. When cast, prior incantato causes a wand to regurgitate ghostly images of the last spell it cast. Priori incantatem is slightly different. When two "sibling" wands (that is wands with the same core material from the same source, both Harry and Voldemort's wands have a feather from Fawkes the phoenix) are used in a duel against each other, one of the two will end up displaying the last several spells it was used to cast. Which of the two is determined by whose willpower is stronger at the moment.
Voldemort expected as he was the older, more knowledgeable wizard that he could easily beat Harry and kill him, but Harry was determined not to die so easily, thus his willpower was stronger than Voldemort's at that moment. Which meant the resulting priori incantatem was in Harry's favor. Because priori incantatem forced Voldemort's wand to reveal spells going back to the death of Harry's father. Harry didn't actually beat him. The ghosts of those Voldemort had killed with his wand distracted him long enough for Harry to escape.

Of course, he didn't beat Voldemort or we wouldn't be waiting so anxiously for book 7. However, Harry Potter described the answer to your question in book 5 when Hermione and Ron first try to get him to do the DA. He got by on luck and wits and a bit of help. He can't beat Voldemort without gumption. The only way he gets away from him and such is by facing his fears and facing Voldemort. When he stood up and faced him in book 4, he said the right thing at the right time. The wands met, and being a brother of the other (wands, that is) they could not be used against each other. Whatever it was that came out of Voldemort's wand is what helped Harry. I hope that she explains that phenomena in more depth in the last book.

Well Harry didnt beat Voldemort actually, the fact is that as their wands were made of the same source, they wouldnt attacked each other or at least the behavior of the wands would be out of the usual, in that case when they attacked each other the wands kind of created a link, kind of a magical connection, at that time harrys parents appeared because that was the last spell Voldemort made with that wand before loosin his powers, James and Lily kind of gave Harry a little advantage time for him to reach the keyport and Cedrics dead body and return back to the triwizards tournament.... It wasnt Voldemorts lack of powers or Harry havin more, it was just the luck of the connected wands maybe...

Harry used the disarming spell just as Voldemort used the Avada Kedavra spell. Their wands "linked" and Voldemort's wand "emitted" the last spells in reverse order (since their wands contain the same core, a tail feather from Fawkes, they will not work properly against each other). The shadows of the ppl he killed last helped Harry get back to the portkey.

Harry and Voldemort faced off and their wands connected. Voldemorts wand was forced to show past magic and people he had recently killed came out of it and helped Harry get away. Cedric, the old muggle that was killed in the beginning of the movie/book and Harry's parents. They gave him enough time to call for the port key to take him and Cedric back.

pretty much he was lucky.
Voldemort and Harry each have a want with a feather from a phenoix.. well, Dumbledore's Phenoix.
When they connect, because they are "brother wands" they can't fight so you get the Priory incantatum... which is sort of one wand forcing the other to choak up what it's done in the past. Harry focused really hard and it caused shadows of his parents, cedric and others to come around, causing a distraction and Harry ran back to the cup.
The movie actually does this scene almost to the letter. They even take text out of the book. For movies.... this is one of the best scenes.

Harry technigally didn't beat Voldemort...but more ran away.
Harry's and Voldemort's wands connected right when Voldemort threw the Killing Spell at Harry and Harry threw another spell at Voldemort (I don't remember which one it is) at the same time.
Harry's and Voldemort's wands connected because of Priori Incantatem....both of their wands have the same feather.
A phenoix feather from Dumbledore's Phenoix.
Harry pulled his wand upward and the connection broke.
The shadowy figures that came from Voldemort's wand, starts closing in to Voldemort.
Harry runs towards Cedric's body, throws spells at the deatheaters, and Voldemort runs toward him.
Harry uses the Summining Charm (Accio!), bringing the porkey towards him, grabs the porkey, and goes back to Hogwarts.

I think Voldemort was caught off-guard by the Priori Incantatem of his and Harry's wands reacting to each other... It was a battle of wills, and Harry's will was strengthened by the Phoenix song (Harry's connection with Dumbledore) and the presence of his family, while Voldemort stood alone.
I'm sure this theme will continue in Deathly Hallows - Harry has people who he is fighting for, and people who support him while Voldemort has only his Death Eaters (who are only supporting him for their own personal gains)

If i recall correctly, their wands wouldn't attack eachother because they are made of the same ingredients. Therefore, Harry received help from all of the souls Voldemort killed.
