Yes - I am usually on the Optical section (I am a certified Optician) and occasionally one of the other Top Contributers and I correspond back and forth and talk some shop...I have yet to receive any "nasty-grams" from other users via email. Its nice to talk to other people in my profession from around the country and swap opinions and share stories...

Yes I correspond with several YA users. Have made some very good friends. Even fell in love with one of them.

Yes. Usually they are good and or funny. There is a couple going through marital problems that just need to vent and I am cool with that but there was one dude who kept on trying to tell me about the end of the world and wanted to debate about religion ALL the time. Strangely, I lost them...yeah...that's it....my computer ate them........Woo!

i initiate a lot of mails with people, generally complimenting them for a great answer, or saying i like what they have to say in general. most mail me back, and a lot of them i now have regular discussions with.
the only downside to that is tha some poor confused old woman thought i had sent her a nasty mail and has since accused me of all manner of things. i have probably 50 people who would vouch that i'd never do anything like she's accused me of. after about 10 lengthy letters between us i had to, unfortunately, block her, the dear old thing!
