Most babies are bowlegged until they walk alone for about six months.
'Cruising ' [ holding on and walking ] doesn't count, so he has a while yet.

6 months after fully walking is the rule to determine a problem.. my son was still bowlegged at this point and we got an x-ray and a consult and he was still fine..
he was also pretty badly pigeon-toed, but he corrected it on his own, which is what is recommended these days instead of putting children in braces.. the statics show that children will correct it on their own ;-)
so no worries until your baby is walking after 6 months, i've never seen a baby NOT be some what bowlegged!!

Children can't hold up their own body weight when they are that small. As they grow older, and stronger this "bowlegged" look will decrease, and it will go away. It is just one of the things that happens when they are just learning how to walk.

no my pedi. told me its okay to let them stand. I have no idea why people think they can't bear weight on thier legs. my sons legs were kinda bowlegged when he was born but they are straightening out. he is also 7 months old.

My baby always stood too, his legs are actually really straight for 15 months. Bowleggedness is NORMAL, and the non-normal bowleggedness is actually caused by rickets (vitamin D deficiency) and a few other medical conditions, it is not associated with early standing (unless possibly you force a baby to stand that is screaming and telling you they are in pain)

He'll grow out of the bow legged appearance. It just takes time. By the time he's like four you won't notice a thing.

It's normal. When he starts walking and using the muscles in his legs more they will straighten out.

its too early to tell a lot of kids look like that at this age. Most likely not!

part of the reason babies look like they are bow legged is they have a nappy "in the way"...........
