My daughter used to break out in a rash every time she was coming down with something and this is what I did with her and my son who is now 2 1/2.
If the rash is raw and stinging use old fashioned Vaseline to protect it for 1 diaper change (not more than 3 hours) then when the sting goes away use Caldesine powder (pink plastic old fashioned powder bottle) This will heal her bottom fast. It will heal what she has now and if used for the last diaper change for the night will prevent future rashes.
The reason for the Vaseline first is to give the skin a chance to have a break from the other ointments. I never could use desitin of any form without the baby screaming because it stings on irritated skin.
Good luck!

It could be from the change in food. Some babies are allergic to soy. Definitely check with your dr.
If the rash is not responding to rash cream it's possible you have yeast rash.
A yeast diaper rash looks like this:
http://www.askdrsears.com/html/8/t081401.asp
We had one and the thing that kicked it for us was 1) going diaper free to dry it out as much as possible and 2) feeding baby the baby acidopholous they sell at the health food store (they are a kind of probiotics kinda like the "active cultures" in yogurt that kill the extra yeast in the body)
Best wishes! Rashes are no fun for baby or mommy!

my daughter has a bad bad one right now too, to the point of actually little bleeding spots..
lotrimin AF will help clear it up a lot faster, and you can put the destin on top of it to make a barrier for the next diaper change.. oh and use a plain wash cloth instead of wipes.. the soap burns that precious skin with the rash...
i'm pretty sure her's is from teething her molars...
if it was from the formula i think it would have shown up earlier last week when you began it...

Is your daughter teething? Have you introduced new foods to her? Speak to your MD before you start switching formulas. When my son had diaper rash I found the Butt Paste ( yes, it is real) worked really well. You can find it almost anywhere. Also Triple Paste works too.

if you are sure its the formula switch her and its OK to switch all at once. but there is a cream that you can get over the counter ant Eckerds but you do have to asked the Pharmacist, its called something like Bormer butt ornament it is for babies though. its like $10 but it works almost immediately.
Sorry I'm not 100% sure of the name but they should know, its like the only one that you need to asked for, maybe because its also prescribed by the Dr so its kept in the back.IDK

My son gets a horrible diaper rash whenever he has something he is allergic to (mostly berries and citrus).
Its possible shes allergic to soy... why not continue to nurse her?
Do you still have milk? Put some milk on her butt and let her run around naked.
Could it be a yeast rash? She was getting a living substance with your milk and her stomach may have needed the extra help...

the best and cheapest cure for a baby's diaper rash is plain old cornstarch, go to the grocery and pick up a box and just powder her bottom all over, it is very drying, better than powder and doesn't sting.it will heal up fast.
Take it from an old grandma, corn starch is the best.

1] give her a baking soda bath
2] let her go naked for a bit
3] get some Balmex for her bottom
4] after you change her with a wet paper towel, not wipes [ many sting with a rash ] 'blow dry ' her bottom if she can't go naked.
5] give her some Tylenol for pain to sleep
6] call your Pediatrician in the AM if she is no better.

Is there pustules? It may not be a normal diaper rash, she could have an infection. Have you changed diaper brands recently?
