Yes, it should have never been expanded. Especially with the long spring that's 170+ games for some. It's pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

Of all the sports, baseball NEEDS a long season. Other sports claim that any team can beat any other team on any given day, but then they use the term 'upset' when it happens. On any ol' day, a .203 substitute infielder can hit like Babe Ruth. On any ol' day the Royals can beat the Red Sox 22-1. And it's no upset. Why, it makes the papers when on team wins the entire season against another. It takes a LONG time for luck, oddity, dieties, and voodoo not to count. At the end of a long season, the cream has generally risen. 162 is fine. Just fine. (For me, 172 would be even better!!!!)

It should. With three rounds of playoffs, the weather starts to become a factor by the end of the playoffs in October. It's silly to have the most important games of the year played in some of the worst weather. Remember the snow in Cleveland?

However, it will never happen. There's too much money involved, and owners don't want to give up those eight games ... and players don't want to take a pay cut. It's a bit short-sighted -- 154 games would work fine -- but nothing is changing.

Why? With that long season, everyone still has a chance. I don't want it to be like football; lose 9 games and your playoff hopes are done.

Besides, its summer. What else better than to go to a ball park and watch your team play?

Also, I'd prefer watching 5-6 times a week than 3-4 times.

it is occupied with the money that the television agencies get. What i do in comparison to is while they start up up the season (March thirtieth this year), a chief occasion: final season the Cleveland Indians and Seattle Mariners have been meant to open the Tribe's dwelling house establishing series, even though it have been given snowed out one pitch removed from the interest counting and Paul Byrd getting a 5-inning acceptable interest, it substitute into later made up in September with Aaron Laffey commencing interest a million of an afternoon-nighttime double-header fairly of Byrd. besides, it is 8 playoff communities, no longer 6, there are 6 divisions and a couple of untamed card communities, and 162 video games no longer a hundred and seventy. Pitchers make a batters activity fairly no longer elementary, enable's see you attempt to hit Tim Wakefield's knuckleball in Fenway. Any pitcher throws the ball fairly no longer elementary, in case you hate baseball lots, i might desire to probable get Justin Verlander to interrupt open your cranium with a 95mph fastball, which i think of is on the brink of a WARMUP PITCH for him, his max is one 0 one.2mph. you attempt hitting a ball that is going over 85mph ON wide-unfold, and can desire to pass in any path different than up after it leaves the pitcher's hand, the very superb hitters get out around sixty 5% of the time. it is greater durable than you think of.

I don't believe so. As long as the league makes money to support the players' salaries, they're doing something right. Plus, the summer season is dead as far as pro sports go and baseball helps to carry it. Without it, there'd really be nothing to watch on TV. I think it's fine the way it is.

although they should, they never will. the best that they will do is reduce the number of spring training games. besides, the long season gives more teams a chance to succeed.

I think it's about the right length. Any more games and that would be stretching the season into November, which is to long. Making it shorter would be to short. I think it's the right length.

I dont think so, baseball is not a sport that demands a lot from your body, except for catchers, thats why they need days off.
