OK, so I've answered this question several times before but since I love doing it, I'll do it again.

My favourite character has to be Sirius Black.

He is the ultimate in rich bad boy with a golden heart. He is arrogant and reckless, yet caring and kind. Sirius' loyalty towards his friends is matchless. He just happens to possess all the qualities I admire the most - courage, loyalty and charisma.
I simply adore him. My favourite is that scene in OoP in his 5th year though he does behave like a bully. But I love his style. Sirius definitely deserved much better than what he got. A handsome rebel with a flying motorbike! What more could I want?
I do not see Sirius as a father figure. Throughout the series he was more of a friend to the Trio rather than a wise, level headed adviser. Remus fills that part, not Sirius.

I also like Harry, Ron, Ginny, Fred and George, James (the little we see of him), and Dumbledore.

I am torn between Ron and Snape. I like Ron because he's so incredibly average. He IS how most of us are. But Snape is such a wonderful fantasy character. He's completely unreal, but Rowling writes him well for the most part.

I really think Rowling has miswritten her entire series. Ron should have been more of a focus. He is far more interesting than poor, tortured Harry. No reader can honestly empathize with Harry, but 99% of readers can empathize with Ron.

Further, Snape's role in the series is too thin. He deserves far more attention.

Lupin, and I can't really 100% put my finger on why.. but I think it is because he has such a wide open heart.

You'd think someone who was living his life the way he was, shunted by wizards because of his wearwolf-isms, would have shut himself out... but instead Lupin continues to see the good in people.

Even though it's not cannon, the conversation between Harry and Lupin on the bridge in Movie 3 made me love him more.

Ginny....I love her! She is so unpredictable! And she really comes out of her shell in OotP. And when she and Harry kiss after they win the Qudditch Championship....I almost cried! She is clearly an important character.

i would have to say hermione cause she is tough, although she does get a little emotional, and she is really smart. and also lily potter, she is outspoken and kinda like a younger version of hermione.
note: screen name =)

Percy Weasly. He just makes me laugh, and he's really smart and full of himself, which are two qualities I really admire. Also, when he sent that letter to Ron, the contents and Ron's reaction were great.
