I like listening to Rage Against the Machine. However some of their beliefs and ideas I do not agree with. By listening to them, do I support and agree with them?

As long as you enjoy the music, you don't have to agree with everything they say. If you believe differently stick to what you think. It's a good thing to be an independent thinker. It doesn't necessarily mean you support their beliefs it just means it's good music. I feel the same way you do about Rage.. I don't agree with everything they say, but I still like them.

You just gotta agree with the song and I don't mean that you must agree to the lyrics. If you and the song find yourselves sharing the same place and it's a pleasant experience, then just enjoy the song for the way it makes you feel. When I listen to AC/DC's Highway To Hell, I know I'm not on a highway to hell but I like the way it's sang (I'll always pretend like I'm an ambulance driver and sing it Highway To Help anyway...lol

Its okay to listen to them. You may like their music only, but not lyrics, so what? No one is going to get mad because you dont believe in their views on politics. I listen to bands where i dont really agree with the lead singers views on religion, etc., but who cares, because I really like their music in general.

NO, Your beilefs are yours I am a HUGE RATM fan, I support their lyrics most of the time, but some of their thoughts are fairly twisted. But its ok to like a band for reasons such as members and sound.

No, my favorite band is Mushroomhead and they are no where near christian like me. i accept people for their beliefs, its there decision not mine, i shouldnt hold a grudge against them just because we dont see eye to eye on things. we have the right to like what we want, and we shouldnt be critiziced for that. another way to look at it is if your friend smokes pot and you dont, that doesnt make you a pot head. all that matters is the music, not what they believe. so yeah, no. hope this helped!

You don't have to do either. I listen to christian and satanic metal. I'm more of a satanic atheist, but christian music's cool too.
