There is a $250 iPod nano with 8 gigs, a $200 nano with 4 gigs, and a $250 iPod video with 30 gigs. Which should I get? I think I want at least 8 gigs so we can forget about the 4 gig nano. I don't know how much video I would actually watch so should I go with the compact nano? If you've got one tell me what you think of it. Thanks.

One major difference between the two is the type of memory they use. Are you going to work out or do anything physical while using it? The nano uses flash memory, which means impact or jarring from movement won't effect it. The video uses a disc system similar to a computer hard drive, so lots of movement and impact can mess things up. I have a video for most of my uses, plus a cheap Sansa flash memory player to work out with, for what it's worth.

The video would be the best because of more storage space and the video part. The 8gb nano is not worth it. Get more space for the same price.

It depends what you'll mostly be using it for. I have a video iPod, because I like the extra space to use for transferring files. My partner likes his Nano because he likes it being so small and light to fit in a pocket, and he only uses it for music.

It's ok having the video capability, but I don't watch it much. You can get games for the video iPod but they're pretty tame.

It's better if you get the ipod video. It has a lot more gigas. Trust me! I have one, and I can watch movies when I'm bored or just watch video podcasts. The nano is smaller, but you can do more stuff with the video one.

I'm happy I got the video ipod.

I have a video, and while I don't hardly ever use the video feature, the extra space is nice. Plus, the nanos get lost really easy.

The nano is much easier to keep in your pocket and such. But if you're not worried about that, go with the video.

i would get the video, I just got a kenwood in dash dvd player for my car, and the ipod video hooks up to it and shows the videos on the screen.
