Can the team get someone from the stand or use a coach or batboy to pitch?

I mean you can't run out of pitchers unless your last pitcher is injured. That last pitcher has to keep pitching the game or sub a fielder for him. But if you mean no position players who know how to pitch then tough luck. You still have to put one of them in no matter if they know how to or not.

If the team is out of players they would switch the pitcher into the field, and as long as the pticher remains in the game they can come back on and pitch. This is a rule that I think should be taken advantage of more in the majors. SO the only reason a team would forfeit is if the pitchers' arms were so dead that they could not throw the ball to the plate and in that case they probably would have already lost.

If the team does not have nine players remaining eligible to take the field, that team must forfeit the game.

MLB Rule 4.17:
A game shall be forfeited to the opposing team when a team is unable or refuses to place nine players on the field.

I have never heard of it happening in a Major League game. But the rules say it can.
