The best thing you can do in your life is figure out who you are at any given point and represent youself as truthfully as possible. That's not to say you won't change over the years or, hopefully, improve. But at any given point the only real thing you have in life is your self-awareness, and the only thing you can control is the representation of yourself as accurately as you want it to be. While you cannot control other people, you can control who you are, your understanding of this, and how you present it to the world. Hopefully, over time, you will realize that the only person you have to answer to is yourself. But it is always better to be who you are and let the chips fall where they may. I've known too many people who spent their whole lives building up a false image, only to have an identity crisis years later once they realized that they didn't know who they were and neither did anyone else. They were lost, some with tragic consequences. Good luck.
